CAUSES of Been Dishonest
COVETOUSNESS > Luke 12 vs 15[kjv]
And he said unto them, take heed, and beware of covetousness for a man’s life consist not in the abundance of the things which he possessed.
Covetousness is not only by taking what does not belong to you deceitfully, covetousness can be in any form.
When you are not sent by God and you are proclaiming what he didn’t send you, it is called DISHONESTY.
If a man or a prophet who is not honest to the offerings and tithes of the church is Covetousness,
One of the greatest sin Jesus spoke against in the bible is covetousness.
And no prophet of God who was found in the act was spared alive. beginning from the Adam and eve.
The spirit of covetousness comes before the spirit of disobedience that makes eve agreed. (GENESIS 3 VS 6)
That passage tells us that eve desired the tree, she found the tree to be good for food because it was pleasant to the eyes.
The spirit of covetousness liberated from the life of Adam and eve to their seed Cain and Abel.
Abel offered his best sacrifice to God but Cain hid his best and offered a scanty sacrifice because the spirit of covetousness has filled his mind.
The spirit of covetousness didn’t stop there it went round the world even at the time of Noah, the people of the world was filled with lust and the spirit of covetousness dwells in them, they could not leave their riches, the spirit of covetousness took place cost them their life.
Furthermore, it went down to Abraham and his brother lot, covetousness made lot to choose the most greener pasture, nevertheless lot should be aware that Sodom and Gomorrah was filled with lust but because of his covetousness it cost the life of his wife, she became a pillar of salt, the spirit of covetousness didn’t stop them, it continues that way until it gets to Jacob children. (REUBEN), it even dwells in the life of pharaoh, which cost him his life and his horse men, look at Achan, Annais and saphirah, even gehazi and Judas Iscariot.
The spirit of covetousness took their life.
Joseph refused the spirit of covetousness and God blessed him abundantly
Lack of the fear of God > You claim to be born again in Christ and yet you are not honest to everything that comes your way, the fear of God does not dwell in you.
When you speak when God has not spoken it is dishonesty that’s because of the lack of the fear of God.
The bible says the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, that mean when you fear God you will get wisdom on how to acquire wealth that will lead to everlasting life.
Once you fear God in all your ways, what belongs to you will never belongs to someone else.
When you lack the fear of God you begin to steal tell lies, fornicate, even to the extent of committing adulteries, you are not honest why?
You lack the fear of God.
Greediness > Greediness is a deadly disease mostly found among human.
God does not love a greedy soul, when you are greedy, you want to acquire everything only to yourself without considering others.
When you are greedy, automatically the spirit of covetousness is in you, and its dishonesty.
Effect of dishonesty It can cost your life, (untimely death)Sudden destruction from God, Poverty, Failure to stop been dishonest, you will end up in hell fire
Generally, everything will do every day concern honesty, so one must be extra ordinary careful from possessing the spirit of dishonesty, when you refuse to praise God, you are being dishonest, If all you do is pray and pray, requesting, no room for thanks, no time to praise God and worship it will lead to unanswered prayers <b>why?</b> because you are not honest.
Ways to request from been dishonest
Acknowledge you have taken what does not belong to you/
Acknowledge you are a sinner
Return whatever you have forcefully, stylishly taken in folds/
Make Restitution
Believe in the cross of Calvary
Plead for the blood of Jesus to wipe away your mischievous act
Pray for the spirit of praise and prayer to continually dwell in you,
Pray without ceasing.
Conclusion
The spirit of dishonesty has taken the world has a whole captive, everyone both young and old once, boys and girls now leave comfortable in dishonesty, to the extent some make it their daily activities, without it you can survive, remember it’s a sin.
Take for example those mention earlier in the bible found in the act, it cost them their life, and also remember the wages of sin is death, and the bible says he whose name is not found written in the book of life shall be cast into the lake of fire for ever and ever.
Am not here to condemn you, I just want you to know it’s a sin and God is unhappy about it.
